The Beyond Nuclear Initiative (BNI) remains a key conduit for outreach and campaign work around the national radioactive waste dump proposal. The project builds on, informs and adds value to the efforts of both national and state based partner groups and a diverse range of stakeholders and affected parties.
BNI works to ensure that local knowledge and concern informs national positioning by facilitating key relationships with wider civil society, human rights, development, environmental and public health groups, including the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Public Health Association Australia and the Australian Conservation Foundation. The project provides policy advocacy, strategic advice, briefing materials and extensive media commentary.
You are invited to invest in the nuclear free movement by supporting Beyond Nuclear Initiative with a one off or regular payment.
Your support will help ensure the Muckaty story is properly archived and documented, to provide policy analysis and information to communities who may face and resist similar proposals in the future.
BNI is also now working with Traditional Owners and community members near the shortlisted national radioactive waste site at Barndioota in SA and will be monitoring the rollout of the Royal Commission recommendation for an international nuclear waste dump to be built in South Australia.
